Grafted in Messiah or Not?

This document will present the idea of an authentic grafting process regarding the people of the Nations to Israel – “The Covenant Bride of Messiah.”

Firstly we need to define our terms.

Graft (or to Graft) is a horticultural technique whereby tissue from one plant is inserted into those of another so that the two sets of tissues may join together.

For successful grafting to take place, the vascular tissues of the stock must be placed into contact with the scion tissue.  Both tissues must be kept alive until the graft has ‘taken’.  Joints formed by grafting are not as strong as naturally formed joints, so a physical weak point still occurs at the graft

In the event of surgical grafts, where tissue is moved from one site to another on the body, the graft does not contain its own blood supply and relies on the body it is grafted onto to supply and build its blood supply.  The graft relies on the ‘sap’ of the root.

Grafts do not always take.  A graft is a very delicate thing and the graft is only as good as the tissue being grafted.  If the graft is diseased, then the graft will be compromised.

It is also interesting to note that while the site of the graft is extremely painful, the site that the original graft was taken from is even more painful.

While you are trying to graft yourself to the Hebrew Mashiach (as painful as that is), the site where you came from is also screaming in more pain because part of them (whether family, friends or a congregation) has had part of them seemingly ripped away.  Healing is needed for all.

This is why in Romans 11; Rav Shaul is declaring that Israel has not been cast away with.  “But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became a partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree, do not be arrogant towards the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you!  You will say then ‘Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.’ Quite right, they were broken off for their unbelief, but you stand by your faith.  Do not be conceited, but fear; for if HaShem did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either!”

The very essence of Messiah is in the sap of His Tree.  Are you from His Tree, or are you from other tree?

Grafting onto the Tree of Messiah must stay within the natural order of how things were created otherwise they become an abomination.

A wild of olive branch, can be graft onto a cultivated olive tree.

From the beginning, the Salvation of mankind and restoration of the world has been revealed by the Messiah. The Jewish people accepted the invitation to be the example to reveal this miracle, thus restoring the unity of mankind with YHWH.

The choice is whether you want to be grafted into Messiah, and therefore nourished by His Sap.  This is the only way to be given access to His Eternal Tree of Life.

People, who struggle with the grafting process, may find that their graft is not taking due to the disease of false doctrine they do not wish to have treated.  Remember there are but one door who is YHWH Yeshua ha Mashiach, and not some other way to enter.

For your graft to take your theology must align with the nourishing sap of Messiah through the Jewish people or your graft will not take.

This is the ‘hormone powder’ that sprinkled onto the graft before it is set in order to improve the changes of the graft taking.

Another analogy is this, if you want authentic Greek food you will go to a restaurant where a Greek mother or grandmother is the cook, not a Greek restaurant that employs a Chinese cook.  Likewise, if you want awesome, tasty, authentic Israeli food have it cooked by an awesome Jewish Israeli not a Greek.

Messiah is not Greek, as history has portrayed Him.  The same applies to the Holy Scriptures!  If we want the authentic message about Messiah the Israeli Jew and his Jewish followers; then we must go back and study from the Original Hebrew sources e.g. The Hebrew Scriptures or what Christianity calls the Old Testament and all the historical Hebrew sources that back up the biblical narration.

Christians, Muslims, and any other religions are grafted to the tree of their god. These trees do not have any nourishing sap.  They do not produce salvation. These trees are different to the Tree of Salvation found in the Hebrew Scriptures.

If you think you are grafted, check to see what kind of branch you are trying to graft into.  Is it into His cultivated olive tree, or another? The unnatural branch is contrary to the order of creation.

The fruit of being grafted into the branch of Messiah will cause you to love YHWH Yeshua ha Mashiach, Israel and His Jewish people.  Not only will His sap cause you to love the land of Israel, it will give you the yearning to want to live there. You will want to obey and live by the constitution of the Land - that is, the Covenants in the Torah, the Prophets, the Writings, the precepts, the judgments, and ordinances that guide the lives of everybody who has faith in YHWH.

You will desire to study the ancient beautiful language of Hebrew.

This is the language that HaShem used to create the universe and it is the same language that was used to communicate with our ancient Biblical Forefathers.  Hebrew reveals through the study of the letters, their codes, numeracy and patterns the true depth and knowledge of Elohim.

Only then can the New Testament be understood in its original context from its Hebrew perspective – the way it was intended!

Yeshua and His Talmidim never taught from the New Testament, they only used what was already established in the Tanakh.  Thereby using the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings to confirm His Messiahship.

You will hunger to keep the Sabbath, feasts, customs and traditions of the Jewish people of YHWH.  YHWH Yeshua ha Mashiach will guide and support you to be set apart from worldly lifestyles and secularism.  After becoming set apart you will be transformed like the Jewish Nazarene Talmidim who followed Yeshua in the first century.   Disciples are Imitators of their Master, Yeshua was known by His own people as a Jewish Orthodox Rabbi. This is a historical fact.

Let us now examine our beliefs.

When people see you, do they recognise you as a worldly, secular person or as one who imitates the Jewish Nazarene Talmidim who followed and emulated the Master?  Do you ‘look like the world, dress like the world, speak like the world and act like the world – or are you set apart, distinguished as a believer and follower of the Jewish Messiah?

Your new apperance will not be offensive to the Orthodox Jewish community because you will fit in and look just like them except the only main difference will be your faith in Yeshua ha Mashiach.  You will truly represent the true Jewish Character of Yeshua ha Mashiach and His followers the Nazarenes.  The Jewish community will have no choice but to accept you as a part of the family of Israel.

These facts have been presented to each person reading this document with the motive of revealing the true love of Messiah toward the nations of the world, that they can be grafted into Israel as true Sons or Daughters.

Do you long to become a true disciple that imitates and follows the Messiah of Israel and His Talmidim?

If yes, do what has been said up above in the document.  If no, then what was the point in believing in the Messiah of Israel in the first place?  After all, it was Yeshua who said in Matt 7:20, “You will know them by their fruit!”

YHWH Yeshua Mashiach is who He says He is and NOT what we want Him to be, this would be idolatry.

Nazarene Jews from the first century were a light to the nations and presented the Tenakh and message of Messiah to the world.

Now in this time in history I am available as an Orthodox Jewish Nazarene to help those with hunger and a sincere heart to share my knowledge as a facilitator and help you with your discipleship.

True discipleship does not happen overnight, it is an ongoing process - just as nourishing sap feeds a branch and just as the wounds of the graft need time to heal and time to take.  It will be a challenging process, but what a beautiful result!

Ariel, shalom....

Thanks for your post.  I must tell you I agree with all aspects of it except one, in part.  It's where the above seems to state that the root of Sha'ul's "cultivated" tree is Yeshua.  In a sense I would say yes, but more plainly the analogy he is making pertains to being grafted (by covenant) into the root of the tree being (true) Yahudah. Rabbi Trimm has written a good explanation of the analogy...

Finally let us look at the olive tree prophecy of Romans 11. This prophecy parallels the two "sticks" prophecy of Ezekiel 37 (note that the word STICK in Ezek. 37 is ETZ which also means "tree").

Rom. 9 begins the contrast of the "Jews" and "Gentiles" by quoting Hosea 2:25(23); 2:1 (1:10) in Rom. 9:25-26. But if we look up the context of the people "which were not my people" which he calls "my people" in Hosea we find that they are the "children of Israel" (Hosea 2:1 (1:10)) as opposed to "the children of Judah" (Hosea 2:2 (1:11)) So if Paul is quoting Hosea in context and contrasting Jews and Gentiles (Rom. 9:24) using Hosea 2:1-2 (1:10-11) then the "Jews" of Rom. 9:24 are the "Childern of Judah" of Hosea 2:2 (1:11) and the "Gentiles" of Rom. 9:24 are the "children of Israel" of Hosea 2:1 (1:10). If this is true then as this contrasting pair advances into Rom. Chapter 11 the two trees are the two Houses.

Now the uncultivated olive tree in Romans 11 is clearly therefore Ephraim and the cultivated olive tree is clearly that of Judah. This prophecy tells us that branches from the tree/stick of Ephraim will be broken off and grafted into the tree/stick of Judah, are to be fed by the root of the tree/stick of Judah and are not to boast against the natural branches (Jews)."
