A man named Ron Wyatt provides proof of his archaeological activities at Mt.Moriah "Jan 6, 1982" which include finding not only the Ark but all the other items used by the Levitical Priesthood. His theory, developed from his findings, are that when Yeshua died His blood went through a crack in the stone below Him onto the Ark directly below the impalement site.

This video contains more detailed historical accounts of the Ark's movements through history and even discusses the Maccabeian account:

Here's Ron's website, apparently maintained by his now widowed wife Mary:

The only question I have after reviewing his findings is, ...where is the photo of the two tablets that he apparently took?

"Proves" is a pretty strong word.  I would think the only real "proof" of finding the Ark, would be to produce the Ark itself.

“One finds in the records that Jeremiah the prophet ordered those who were being deported to take some of the fire, as has been told, and that the prophet after giving them the law instructed those who were being deported not to forget the commandments of the Lord, nor to be led astray in their thoughts upon seeing the gold and silver statues and their adornment. And with other similar words he exhorted them that the law should not depart from their hearts. It was also in the writing that the prophet, having received an oracle, ordered that the tent and the ark should follow with him, and that he went out to the mountain where Moses had gone up and had seen the inheritance of God. And Jeremiah came and found a cave, and he brought there the tent and the ark and the altar of incense, and he sealed up the entrance. Some of those who followed him came up to mark the way, but could not find it. When Jeremiah learned of it, he rebuked them and declared: “The place shall be unknown until God gathers his people together again and shows his mercy. And then the Lord will disclose these things, and the glory of the Lord and the cloud will appear, as they were shown in the case of Moses, and as Solomon asked that the place should be specially consecrated.”
(2 Maccabees 2:1-8 RSV)

Read closer please. I said there is "proof" of his "archeological activities". Are you saying he and his son's never excavated anything at Mt. Moriah? I am not saying he actually found anything. However, I do like to keep an open mind to the possibility he wasn't lying.

During the video somewhere, (...sorry I did not mark the tape location) he discusses the likelihood that the account, concerning the restoration of the temple, given in 2 Maccabees, has been fulfilled already. Plausible no? Perhaps after Jeremiah,  Ezra and Nehemiah acquired it fulfilling "gather His people again". Perhaps also, they were cunning enough to know they lived in precarious conditions and planned to hide everything there if they were attacked then or later.

Spiritually speaking, the atonement had to occur. Blood sprinkling was required yearly, right?

From the Wiki link you provided:

Rabbi Yehudah, dissenting, says that the Ark was stored away in its own place, meaning, somewhere on the Temple Mount.

I read "A man named Ron Wyatt provides proof of his archaeological activities at Mt.Moriah "Jan 6, 1982" which include finding not only the Ark but all the other items used by the Levitical Priesthood."

Okay, ...I should have typed it better separating "proof of his archeological activities" by stating "He says he found not only the Ark...".My bad.

Still looking for my questions to be answered. Thanks

Still waiting for answers please...

1) Do you believe he and his sons did extensive excavations at Mt. Moriah?

2) Do you think it is possible the hiding of the ark and then the retrieval of it could have been accomplished during Ezra and Nehemiah's tenure?

Lets not also forget his assertions of bringing dried blood to a hospital there. My guess is this could be checked and possibly verified.

He also mentions at one point, that bringing the ark out would have possibly upset quite a few Islam adherents in the area and could trigger another world war!
