Nazarene Space

As I mentioned, last year we held a Seminar “Understanding Paul” in which we went line-by-line through every word Paul wrote: (http://nazarenespace.ning.com/profiles/blogs/understanding-paul-sem...)

This was a three day seminar of intensive teaching.

Only four people actually registered and came to the Seminar (I believe all four of them felt it was well worth it).

We did attempt to video tape the Seminar, but the tapes did not come out well.

Ideally I would like to have the Seminar again, but last time only four people came….

I could offer this as a Yeshiva class for this Semester that is soon to begin… but most of our current Yeshiva students were at the Seminar last year.

I could re-do the Seminar material as an audio CD of video DVD…. It’s a lot of material so a DVD set would not be cheap (hours of video)…

I could produce the material is segments for monthly release to supporters. (Romans one month etc.)

The video has advantages because I can write Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek on the white board and give an interlinear English understanding of given passages.

I am open to ideas…

I can't make it to TX, but I'd be interested in this teaching. Videos work for me.
I'm with Brian on this one. I can't make it to Tx. But I could drive to somewhere remotely local to the Seattle area (anywhere in Washington, northern Oregon, or southern Vancouver B.C.). I could bring at least four people, if not more...
I would absolutely love to see a video series produced, I think you should sell it as monthly segments, maybe with a study guide (HRV text of the book/s being discussed). And you could sell the full set for a discount. Maybe someone could donate their time to do video editing. I don't think it's that difficult to create/edit DVD menus if one has the proper equipment/software. In fact, I might be able to.
Well the cost would depend on the form and the demand.

For example if 100 people came to DFW for a Seminar I could do it for 50 or 60 a head, but if only 4 or 5 people came, it could be done in my living room at more like 200 a head...

If a/the Seminar was held somewhere else then travel expenses for myself and my wife would have to be figured in. That might be a small amount if it was Oklahoma City, and a lot more if it was Florida or the Pacific Northwest part of the USA.

Separate DVD's could be made for each book... Lulu has no way of offering DVD sets, so unless we used another distribution method, we would have to sell it in expensive bits and pieces, Romans would be two separate DVD's alone...
Shooting and editing DVD's is a lot of effort... only worth while if several people will be wanting the DVD's.

How much interest is there in DVDs of this?
I don't think I could pay hundreds of dollars for one. I'm still working through a lot of material. Videos are slightly easier for me than text, though, so I might get through them a little faster. <100 I might be able to do over several months.
Traveling would probably be more profitable for you in the long run, as most of us can't afford to travel to DFW.

However, there is (as you said) the cost of hotel accommodations and airfare to be considered. It's too bad there isn't a "network" of Nazarene congregations nationwide you could convene with who could coordinate such things.

If/when I get one set up in/near Seattle I will hook you up. :-)

Realistically speaking, for the type and quality of teaching this is, messianic/nazarene congregations should be jumping at the chance to host for you to speak at their congregations...

Maybe you could try to sell yourself/the seminar to different congregations across the states? Just tell them up front they will need to provide airfare/lodging... Maybe there are even some Orthodox / Conservative synagogues that would be interested.

This is something worthwhile to ponder and pray.
The monthly videos would be a great way to teach this subject. I am all for it.
Maybe you could set up a youtube channel and post videos there?
These videos could be produced almost, if not entirely, for free - it's the message that counts, not the special effects.
Dr. Trimm works for free a lot already. Charging for his own time is not a bad idea. Still, if it was on youtube, I'd watch it there too.
