In Revelation 12:10 we read:
"…the accuser of our brothers… who accused them
day and night before our Eloah."
The strategy of accusation includes both "slander" and "lashon hara". "Lashon HaRa" (the evil tongue) is the sin of harming another person with words, even when they are true. Those who would never harm a person with a stick, but would not hesitate to harm them with words.
The Torah tells us:
You shall not go up and down as a talebearer
among your people; neither shall you stand idly
by the blood of your neighbor: I am YHWH.
You shall not hate your brother in your heart.
You shall in no way rebuke your neighbor,
nor bring sin upon him,
You shall not avenge nor bear any grudge
against the children of your people,
but you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
I am YHWH.
From these verses we learn not to be a “talebearer” and we learn that we are not to run around rebuking others. We are not to run around saying “did you know that Fred….?” even if the information with which we have to rebuke Fred is true.
The tongue is a weapon that can destroy:
Be not called a detractor;
Use not your tongue for calumny
13: Curse the whisperer and doubletongued: for such have destroyed many that were at peace.
14: A backbiting tongue hath disquieted many, and driven them from
nation to nation: strong cities hath it pulled down, and overthrown the
houses of great men.
15: A backbiting tongue hath cast out virtuous women, and deprived them of their labours.
16: Whoso hearkeneth unto it shall never find rest, and never dwell quietly.
17: The stroke of the whip maketh marks in the flesh: but the stroke of the tongue breaketh the bones.
18: Many have fallen by the edge of the sword: but not so many as have fallen by the tongue.
19: Well is he that is defended through the venom thereof; who hath not
drawn the yoke thereof, nor hath been bound in her bands.
20: For the yoke thereof is a yoke of iron, and the bands thereof are bands of brass.
21: The death thereof is an evil death, the grave were better than it.
22: It shall not have rule over them that fear Elohim, neither shall they be burned with the flame thereof.
23: Such as forsake YHWH shall fall into it; and it shall burn in them,
and not be quenched; it shall be sent upon them as a lion, and devour
them as a leopard.
24: Look that thou hedge thy possession about with thorns, and bind up thy silver and gold,
25: And weigh thy words in a balance, and make a door and bar for thy mouth.
26: Beware thou slide not by it, lest thou fall before him that lieth in wait.
Ya’akov HaTzadik writes at length about how dangerous the tongue is:
3 For behold, we place bits in the mouth[s] of horses so that they may be tamed by us,
and we turn their whole body.
4 Also, the mighty boats, while harsh winds drive them, are turned about by a small
piece of wood, to the place that the pilot desires.
5 So also, the tongue is a small member, and it exalts itself: also, a little fire causes large
forests to burn.
6 And the tongue is a fire, and the world of sin is like a forest. And the tongue, while it
is [one] among the members, defiles our whole body and sets on fire, the successions of
our generations that roll on as wheels: and it burns also with fire.
7 For all the natures of animals, and of birds, and reptiles, of the sea and of dry land, are
subjected to the nature of mankind.
8 But the tongue, no man is able to subdue: this evil, when it is not restrained, is full of
the poison of death.
9 With it, we bless YHWH and the Father: and with it, we curse the sons of men who are
made in the likeness of Eloah.
10 And from the same mouth, proceed blessings and cursings; my brothers, it is not right
that these [things] be done thus.
11 Is it possible that from one fountain, sweet and bitter water spring forth?
12 Or how is it possible for a fig tree, my brothers, to produce olives? Or a vine, figs?
Likewise, neither can you make salty water, sweet.
While most men would not think of attacking another with a physical weapon, many will not think twice before harming another with Lashon HaRa.
When HaSatan comes before the throne of Elohim with accusation, there can be little doubt that the accusations are true (why would he even try to lie to the All-Knowing One). The Torah requires two witnesses for a case to brought. Thus HaSatan is always on the look out for a collaborating witness. When we engage in Lashon HaRa we place ourselves in the position of becoming HaSatan's collaborating witness.
Donations have been very low the last couple of weeks. The fact is that it costs money to carry on YHWH's work. And today's high-tech world is making it possible like never before for us to reach vast masses over great distances virtually instantaneously! The proclamation of the restoration truth of Torah and Messiah is a task of gigantic proportions, but it requires money. YHWH, in His infinite wisdom has provided for this financing, and in such manner that His true called laborers can be free to serve Him alone, carrying His Message boldly. Just as we would expect, this plan is plainly revealed in His Word.
HaSatan hates the tithe, he wants to steal the blessings that YHWH has in store for us, and he wants to destroy the work of YHWH. He is terrified at the thought of Nazarenes all over the world tithing. If we wish to stand against HaSatan we must start by getting serious about the Tithe. Go ahead... test YHWH and see if he does not repay you seven fold in His blessings!
HaSatan wishes "to steal and to kill and to destroy" (Jn. 10:10) and he knows the time is short and has stepped up his war with those who proclaim both Torah Observance and Faith in Messiah (the two pillars of Nazarene Judaism) (Rev. 12:12, 17; 13:7). But no weapon forged against us will prosper (Is. 54:17).

Accusing one another will not bode well for Yahusha's mission either within or without the assembly. We are to love one another "AS" Yahusha loves us, and His example of the measure of that love is to lay down our lives for one another.
In some ways, lashon hara is worse than murder. Those effected by it are many, and the wounds cause the body to decay, and it becomes a kind of gangrene. See 2Ti 2:17, 2Co 12:20.
Above all, forgive those who have offended you, and keep no record of the harm in your heart. If we hold grudges and bitterness, it will rot our bones, and we will not have joy. Keep your eyes on Yahusha, and in all things allow Him to sit on the throne of your hearts. Love is the goal, never lose sight of it.

A theological debate is not Lashon HaRa, Yeshua did not use words as a weapon to harm individuals.
