Hmm... yes as a born-again believer (like yourself) I tend to take the word of G-d from the Scriptures as I said and am happy to have the candid discussion. OTOH, as we all see here the Kabbalah does seem to have some nice elements for study and of course we want respect the relationship that the non-Messianic Jewish believers have with G-d as well. So enough said on my part...

On a side note (different topic), I have been reading some material that questions Messianic Judaism and found some important points. In general, Messianic Judaism causes the followers who are Jewish and who want to be Jewish to separate themselves from the rest of the believers while we should find a way to come together. Long discussion, I already had a few ideas.

Yeah I was thinking about it and come to realize the point that while Yeshua and Paul did not come to teach the Kabbalah itself, they did show the most perfect way to apply the teachings from the Kabbalah in the New Covenant.

My Messianic leader has been teaching that the Word of G-d in the Scriptures is the final word, and I tend to agree in the light of this revelation.

I had an appointment with my Messianic leader and he gave me some reasons why many Messianic believers disregard and reject the Kabbalah. I will try to describe the two most important points:

* The Kabbalah (including the Zohar) has taken influence from Gnostic teachings (which are apparently pagan) and include elements (teachings) of sorcery and magic, which the Torah forbids us to use. There appears to be eastern influence as well.

* Apparently, the Zohar had originated within 2 centuries after the Messiah but has actually kept evolving with changes until say the 13th century or so. While the Zohar is marked as coming from a second-century Rabbi, the style of Aramaic writing shows that a lot of the writing comes from the middle ages. (It had common for students to sign the work of their writing with the name of their teaching rabbis.)

In response, I would give the argument that the Zohar and other parts of the Kabbalah are simply explaining the observations made between the study of the Tanach, Talmud, and other possible influences. Just like science is an explanation of observed phenomena, so is the Kabbalah. I am tired of discussing and arguing this with the other Messianic believers in the fellowship and hope they will continue accept me as a now-Nazarene believer.

Hi Jeremiah thank you very much for reaching to me I will watch the Nazarene space more closely. I am so new, right now I still need to understand the literal word of God as it appears in the Scriptures. I started reading parts from KJV and already recognize small parts from the Kabbalah (such as "wisdom and understanding") in the KJV. I find the KJV beautiful to read considering it is an almost literal translation from the original Hebrew and Aramaic text; most translations of the Scriptures are not literal and will lose some of these things.

The Messianic Jews that I know consider the Kabbalah to be non-Biblical. This is part of the reason I want to understand the Scriptures myself first. Their prevailing idea is that no matter what we read, we must always come back to the word of God. They are using these ideas to imply that it is not good to study the Kabbalah. This is why I want to understand the Scriptures first as much as possible. I do not agree with these people but I would have no argument if I do not completely understand the Scripture first. I do believe you can also find the word of God in the Kabbalah if you look carefully enough.

I have read some very good books about the Kabbalah, but they do not help me understand all of the topics that are discussed in the Nazarene Kabbalah group. I found Shawn's posting for "Kabbalah Yeshua 1.1" useful, but since it references by page number in a specific translation I cannot find these references in any other version. I am pretty lost in Shawn's posting for "Eat my flesh..." If someone could gather a bunch of links or references for good introductory material they would help people like myself.

Why not check with the Israeli embassy, closest consulate, maybe even one of the congregations. Israel has an ongoing program to ID all the tribes..there was a very interesting program aired on this, but who knows which channel.

Yes I have started to read the Kabbalistic Yeshua 1.1 blog and am finding it very helpful so far. I have already identified some bogus-looking material in this area, do you have any other recommendations for a new believer?-)

Thanks Jeremiah for the comments...one thing, you said "Judaism might be powerless". I think this is a common missperception, but the reality is the mystics of Judaism are walking in "the full power" doing healings, miracles, speaking heavenly languages, prophecying and so on. The only thing is, they do what Yeshua said to do....dont let your left hand know what your right hand is doing...in other words THEY DONT BRODCAST THEIR GOOD DEEDS. Unlike Christianity who tries to put every good thing they do on the TV and radio and send it to the whole world "look what I can do". The rabbis let their signs and wonders "follow" them not precede them. So just because we havnt heard much about Judaism doing miracles doesnt mean they arent, (they certainly are) we just dont hear about them. Try checking it out and you will see even this secerecy in miracle working is yet another connection to Yeshua and kabbalah.
