I was Baptist for about 24 years. I'm a recovering Baptist. I learned one truth at a time to come out of protestant beliefs. The first truth I learned was the clean/unclean laws still exist. Once I learned that law had not passed away I was open to finding out what else I believed was wrong. I read magazines from Yahweh's New Covenant Assembly, and Congregation of G-d 7th Day in Kennesaw Georgia, Monte Judah, and Tomorrow's News Today by George Hyde, and listened to shortwave radio preachers who had some truth and some error. One of the preachers I listened to was Brother Ralph G Stair who claims to be the last day prophet of G-d. I sifted through the truth and spit out the error. I discovered Americans have been lied to about religion, health care, vaccinations, politics, history, and law. I attended a Baptist high school in Lakewood Colorado 3 years (HS diploma 1976) and the protestant Bob Jones University for 4 years (BS in Office Admin 1980, minor English) I graduated from Pima College in Tucson (AAS in Computer Programming in 1986). I've been divorced twice and have two half white/half black children who live with me. My daughter was born in Dec 1993 and my son was born in Oct 1997. I believe in discipline, but am too soft and have to admit I'm not good at administering it. I am blessed that my children are both good children. I'm in good health. My son occasionally likes play fight with me to see if he can win. I believe difficult times are ahead. I believe we are to observe the Sabbatical year by not planting, not pruning, and storing three years of food (for the 6th, 7th, and 8th year). It is difficult to know for sure when the Sabbatical year is, but I'm inclined to believe the last Sabbatical was 2007-2008. I observe the conjunction moon with the year starting after the vernal equinox. I prefer to observe Passover with the lamb on the evening beginning the 14th. I like to wear long dresses. I like to have long hair. I don't enjoy TV. I keep Tabernacles in a tent, not an RV or motel. I strongly dislike the pharmacia medical system and prefer herbs. I had my children at home not the hospital. My daughter was 8 pounds and my son 10 pounds at birth. I don't believe women are called to be preachers. I have studied finding nutritional recipes that can be cooked the day before the Sabbath. I like to substitute the sweet vegetable green stevia for sugar, and my children make fun of my green food. I tend to cook food more for health than taste, but as long as I can gag it down I don't care. I don't believe we will be raptured before the Tribulation. I have the same 24 hours in a day as anyone else, but don't feel like I get anything accomplished with that time.
Shalom Sister Ruby; I happened to be going through some profiles of newer members and came across yours; which I found most interesting as you seem to understand the Torah of the Set-Apart times just as I do. I was especially intrigued by your coment concerning the Pesach lamb. I have been hosting an Exodus/ Shemoth 12 Passover for the past 5 years. I have had visitors come in from all around this country and though some are not "ready" for such a Passover service, I find that most feel it very educational and a spiritual insight into our history as the children of Yisrael.
May Abba YAH continue to watch over and guide you in HIS halacha.
