This week’s Parashah deals with tort laws and the rabbis summarized all damages into four categories:
Ox – damages inflicted by one’s property, e.g. ox goring ox;
Pit – damages caused by hazard placed in the public domain, e.g. digging a hole on public road;
Man – damages done by the person himself, e.g. letting ox grazing other’s…
