The Baggage of Opinion
What is an opinion? Why do people have them? And why do places where many different opinions gather, tend to be places of unrest and dissention? Is an opinion a good thing? Do we need to have them at all? By the end of this book you might have a few opinions of your own. Do independent or mass agreed upon opinions in regard to YHWH’s Word have any concrete place within the body of… Continue

A member of our Tarshish Tribune group http://nazarenespace.ning.com/group/tarshishtribune, Wayne, posted a story the Worlld Net Daily went with most of the last half of the week: that the patriarch of the Orthodox Ethiopian Church told the Pope he has possession of the Ark of the Covenant.
Patriarch Abuna Pauolos then told the Italian press -- "Soon the world will be able to admire the Ark of the Covenant described in the Bible as… Continue

I have a friend. We have been friends for almost 30 years now. we spent a lot of time together years ago, sometimes we would call each other on the phone and talk for hours. I still love talking to her but unless I make the first move and call her she never calls me. I understand, after all I know she has a busy life, she has 2 daughters and a husband and she works a few days a week. It would be nice though if she would call me sometimes. When I call her she says she will call me but I'm glad I… Continue

What is an Overseer? The Hebrew term is Mevakar. An Overseer shepherds and oversees a local community. Part of his job is teaching and outreach. Initially it is also his job to train up between three and twenty two other men to become Elders for a local beit-din of twenty-three seats over which he will preside. Essentially a Mevakar (Overseer) is a local congregational leader.
A major key to growing the Nazarene Community is the establishing… Continue

What do you Mean... "Kingdom of Heaven"?
By James Trimm
To understand the Kingdom we must first understand the terms "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Kingdom of Elohim". These terms are used interchangeably:
"Happy are the poor of spirit,
for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Mt. 5:3 HRV)
And he lifted up his eyes to his talmidim and said, Happy are you who are poor because yours is the Kingdom of Eloah.
(Lk. 6:20… Continue

Hi and welcome to my blog. I intend to post some of my poetry up here as well as ramble on about whatever is on my mind.
I live in a small town in a fairly isolated area. There is no messianic congregation anywhere near here, the nearest is 4 hours drive away. I attend a Baptist Church where i am active in the music ministry, playing piano and singing. I'm very interested to know about the hebraic roots of my faith.
Well that gives you some background on me. It's… Continue

How Christianity Replaced Passover
with Weekly Communion and Easter
By James Scott Trimm
In speaking of the so-called “Lord’s Supper” Paul writes “For as often as you eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show our Adon’s death till he come” (1Cor. 11:26)
For many modern Gentile Christians this means “communion” and…

Psalms, Chapter 1:1-6
“The praises of man are that he walked not in the counsel of the wicked, And stood not in the path of the sinful, and sat not in the session of scorners.”
The Prophet Moshe wrote the entire Torah, however the closing chapter was more than likely closed off by his chief student Joshua ben Nunn. How do we know this? Because at the commencement of the final… Continue

Farmed Fish May Pose Risk For Mad Cow Disease
LOUISVILLE, Ky. University of Louisville neurologist Robert P. Friedland, M.D., questions the safety of eating farmed fish in today's Journal of Alzheimer's Disease, adding a new worry to concerns about the nation's food supply.
Friedland and his co-authors suggest farmed fish could transmit Creutzfeldt Jakob disease--commonly known as mad cow disease--if they are fed byproducts rendered from cows. The scientists urge… Continue

From time to time I have been asked my opinion of Herbert W. Armstrong and the Worldwide Church of God.
Let me begin by saying that I do not agree with everything Armstrong taught. However Armstrong taught many truths that were definitely on the cutting edge for his time.
The very name “Church of God” though still using gentilized terminology was a Scriptural name, as the Body of Messiah is generally referred to in the Ketuvim Netzarim (the so-called “New Testament”) as… Continue

There is a beautiful Midrash concerning the death of the patriarch Ya'kov (Jacob).
From his deathbed Ya'kov called his twelve sons to him asking them each to bring a stick. When they had come to him Ya'akov asked his sons to tie all the sticks in a bundle. Then he asked them to each try to break the bundle of sticks. Having passed the bundle around they each failed to break it. Then Ya'akov told them to loose the bundle, pass the individual sticks around, and attempt to break them… Continue

The One God Seminar was held June 13-14, 2009 at the Hilton in Dallas Texas.
This was is an annual "Nature of God" seminar held by a groups of Christians,
many of whom are Sabbatarians and Feast Keepers, who have developed a very
low "Christology" and rejected the deity of the Messiah.
Each year they invite an opposing speaker to challenge their view. My old friend
Dr. Arnold of the Reunion Institute in Houston had recommended me as a good
challenging speaker… Continue
