Update: Rabbi Trimm's Wife Still in Hospital - Day 18

Aug.21st 2018 - Again I am sorry not to have posted an update sooner.  We are still at the hospital, day 18!  I have not posted any updates because I could not give a positive report, and still cannot.  Yesterday she underwent yet another procedure to remove more fluid from her abdomen.   Other than that, I am not publishing medical details at this point.  At this point we don't know when she will come home, and in fact the hospital is talking about pawning her off on a nursing home instead of sending her home.  Anyone who knows how close my wife and I are knows that is not something we can accept.  In fact I have not left the hospital since this began 18 days ago!

This is hitting us hard financially as well (our daily co-pay is $200 plus for me to eat here is $10 for a guest tray each meal - that adds up). If you would like to donate, donations can be sent by PayPal to

Aug, 13 2018 - Update on my wife Kitty Trimm. I am sorry it has been a couple of days since I posted an update. This is because the last couple of days have been very hard on me, and I really wasn't up to expressing myself. She is very, very, ill. She is septic. When they did the emergency surgery they found 2 1/2 liters of bowel fluid had leaked directly into her body. She was kept in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator until Sunday morning when they removed the ventilator and woke her up. She has been what I can only describe as "delirious" since Sunday morning. She is very ill and while heading the right direction, there is a long road to recovery and she is far from out of the woods and she is still in ICU. This is hitting us hard financially as well (our daily co-pay is $200 plus for me to eat here is $10 for a guest tray each meal - that adds up). If you would like to donate, donations can be sent by PayPal to

Aug 10th, 2018- Update on my wife Kitty Trimm: she is back in ICU after emergency surgery last night. There was a small hole in her small intestines and she was leaking bowl into her abdomen. They cleaned her out and repaired the intestines. This took between two and three hours last night. She is now unconscious and on a ventilator, and will stay that way for 24 to 48 hours. (I miss her now, I couldn't imagine life without her) I am told it will be a long recovery. She is very ill and not out of the woods yet. This is hitting us hard financially as well (our daily copay is $200 plus for me to eat here is $10 for a guest tray each meal - that adds up). If you would like to donate, donations can be sent by PayPal to

***My wife Kitty was just moved to ICU*** (Aug, 9, 2018=)

As many of you know, my wife Kitty is in the hospital.  Friday she had a fourth abdominal surgery.  Please keep her in your prayers.

UPDATE: Unfortunately due to complications in her surgery, she had to have a more extensive surgery than was originally planned.  As a result, her hospital stay will be longer.  I have not had time to write an update until now, because I have been dealing with so much here at the hospital.  She has had some problems in the last 24 hours, a fever, a high white blood cell count, and some bleeding from orifices.  She is also in a lot of pain.

This is not a time that I need to be worried about ministry funds.  And yet this has created substantial additional expenses for us at a time when we can least afford it, and right as our rent and many of our bills are due

While we were here we got news that $1,ooo we anticipated receiving Monday, and for which we were tightly budgeted, would not be coming in.

We need to raise $1,5oo by the end of Monday!

We have a substantial daily co-pay every day she is here and  I am having to eat from the hospital (they feed my wife free, but charge me $10 a meal for a guest tray).

****If you can make a one time donation of $500 or $1,000 dollars to support this work, now is the time!****

Background for those who don't already know:

As some of you may know, back in 2015 my wife had two major abdominal surgeries.  Due to complications from those surgeries she had to have an additional surgery last August (2017).  This surgery had an even harder recovery and we were at the hospital several days.

About a month ago I had to rush my wife to the Emergncy Room and learned that her surgery about a year ago had failed, and she will have to undergo a fourth abdominal surgery, on August 3rd of this year.  Meanwhile my wife is not able to get around very well.

Is this work worthy of your support? What other ministry provides this kind of teaching?

What other ministry is reaching the Jewish people with Messiah and the world with Torah like this ministry is?

Now is time to step up to the plate!

Thanks James. Maybe you should get out of the hospital for a short break, I think that’d do you good. Anyway, I will keep you both in prayer.

Hi James I was thinking exactly the same as Jake this morning before having read his comment.  A walk in nature would do you good, you would come back fresh and renewed beside your wife. Please do it.

Chazak! We pray for both of you.

Today is Day 22 in the hospital by the bedside of my wife Kitty Trimm. This is our third Shabbat here. The Rebbe Nachman of Breslov said "Growing spiritually can be like a roller coaster ride. Take comfort in the knowledge that the way down is only preparation for the way up." My wife and I are certainly at a low. But we refuse to be defeated. This low is only a preparation for great things. Never have I had greater devekus (cleaving) to YHWH in my life, nor experiences greater kavannah (focus on YHWH) than I have at this low point in my life. I am like clay that has been pounded and twisted until it is no longer hard, but soft in the hands of the potter and ready to be conformed to the potter's purposes. I want to thank all of you who are standing with us in this crisis. It has been heart warming to know that there are so many compassionate people out there.

Thank you for the update James and we keep on praying for your wife and yourself during this intercession time of chag Yeshua.
