Is Ebola The First Plague?
James Scott Trimm

Shalom friends, I am writing from you from DFW, ground zero for Ebola here in the USA.  The hospital you have been seeing on the news is just 33 miles from my home.

Someone recently asked me if Ebola could be the first plague of the book of Revelation.

We read in the Book of Revelation:

1 And I heard a great voice from the Temple, that said to the seven angels, Go and pour
the seven bowls of the wrath of Eloah upon the earth.
2 And the first went and poured his bowl on the earth: and an evil and painful boil
came on the men who had the mark of the beast, and those who were worshipping his
(Rev. 16:1-2)

The word here for “boil” in the Aramaic is shuch’na (שוחנא) the Aramaic cognate of Hebrew sh’chin (שחין).  This word comes from a root word meaning “heat” and can refer to a boil, inflammation, or ulceration.  (it is the same word used to describe the plague of “boils” which struck the Egyptians in the days of Moses). It is an absolutely accurate word to describe the hemorrhagic effects of the Ebola virus.

So is Ebola the fulfillment of the first plague?  At this point that is hard to say.  Certainly Ebola is the worst virus known to mankind, and is not known to have existed among humans until the late 20th century.  This is a virus which kills most of the people it infects, and does no in a very horrifying and painful manner.  This is a virus that was spewed forth from the pits of Gey Hinnom (“Hell”)!

Where did Ebola come from?  Well experts tell us that Ebola entered the human population through the eating of “bushmeat” in west Africa.  Bushmeat consists of such animals as bats, rats and monkeys, which carry the virus.  These are all animals which the Torah tells us are “unclean” and which we are instructed not to eat (Lev. 11).

There is a warning given to us in the Torah:

58 If you will not observe to do, all the words of this Torah that are written in this book,
that you may fear this glorious and aweful Name--YHWH your Elohim--
59 Then YHWH will make your plagues wonderful: and the plagues of your seed, even
great plagues and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses and of long continuance.
60 And He will bring back upon you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were in dread
of, and they shall cleave unto you.
61 Also every sickness and every plague, which is not written in the book of this Torah,
them will YHWH bring upon you, until you be destroyed.
62 And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for
multitude: because you did not hearken unto the voice of YHWH your Elohim.
(Deut. 28:58-62)

Prophecy has been fulfilled in recent years, first with Aids, a disease which is believed to have entered the human population through bestiality and has been spread widely through sexual promiscuity, especially through homosexual activity.

Now what may be the worst virus ever known to man has entered the human population through eating unkosher foods, a virus that has the potential to wipe out the majority of mankind!

Is it a coincidence that this judgment is coming upon mankind at a time that immorality is spiraling out of control, as homosexuality is being normalized, “gay marriage” is becoming legal, and abortion rampant?

There is certainly reason to be concerned!

I am asking you all to step up as the Sons of Light and chip in to help support the work that we are doing here at WNAE.

I am asking you, if this ministry has ever benefited you, to strongly consider stepping up to the plate and supporting this work today.

Please help us bring the message of Messiah and Torah to a lost world and create Scripture study materials for believers.

"Is it a coincidence that this judgment is coming upon mankind at a time that immorality is spiraling out of control, as homosexuality is being normalized, “gay marriage” is becoming legal, and abortion rampant?"

Ok, sounds good if that is what our focus is? The better question is it those things in the church or is it those things of the world where Satan is god of this world?

With respect and a lot of love as the priesthood are we not to come back with a good report? What is the message that stuff is happening or we the priesthood are to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony, which is the very words we use in every day speech or even what we write?

Do we the body have the power of our Father to turn things around or are we to be victims? No doubt things in scripture will happen, but if we are really living by faith, do we not have the power to turn things around by walking in love and unity or agreement?

Now, I do know that division is not of our Father? So where are we?

The holy spirit convicts of sin and righteousness.  It's one of those things where only our father in heaven can protect us if it is what James contemplates it could be.

Rabbi Trimm

I hope the LORD witness to you the need to expand this very interesting article of how AIDS is a link result of homosexuality and EBOLA a link from not eating Kosher and connect the dots in a expanded teaching

"What our focus is" is what the book tells us it should be, assuming we believe it.  One person I was once acquainted with stated it well... "Preach Torah (...lovingly of course) and let the chips fall where they may"!

Interesting observance of the possible 1st plague.  The second would be enlightening to say the least...

Rev 16:3  And the second messenger poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became blood, as of a dead one, and every living creature in the sea died.(ISR)

Some thought the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico was the 2nd

Your excellent teaching is being compromised by your Premillennial view.

I highly recommend Kenneth Gentry, Jr’s book ‘Before Jerusalem Fell’ for a scholarly understanding of the dating of Revelation.

If you insist on following the Premillennial talking points, why wasn’t the Dark Plague in Europe the one of the first plagues???

Boils was the 6th plague and the reason for the plagues was for not letting His first born son go to serve him.  The plagues were not to punish Egypt for eating traif.  The laws of kashrut were not given yet so even Israel may have been eating traif.  Homosexuality does seem to be a precursor to judgment but was not the Biblical reason given for the plagues.

Every generation for the last two thousand years has been convinced that their time is the ‘last days’ and everyone has been incorrect.  We really need to be careful not to contemporize current events and try to read them through the hazy lens of Biblical prophecy, because so far, all so-called ‘prophets’ of dome have been wrong.  Anyone who thinks he is on to something new is engaged in an ego trip.

The main reason that there are so many interpretations of Revelation . . .  and all of them wrong . . . is because there is a dire lack of scholarship ON Revelation.

It’s time to start getting it right folks, because all of the harbingers of dome and destruction in the Christian world are nothing but a laughing stock to the non-believers.  It makes our task of evangelizing the lost much more difficult when we as Christians come off ‘half-cocked’ and ridiculous!!!

I don't put much weight in most interpretations of revelation.  I do put weight in Israel being recognized as a nation.  I also put weight in the fact of the governmental protection of abortion and homosexuality in all the western nations as a precursor to judgment.  I also put weight in the Islamic uprising and getting nuclear weapons but I don't know how or if that relates to the Revelation of John.  I'm not on friendly terms with Jonathan Cahn personally but I think his harbinger stuff has some interesting facts about the US and haven't seen his Shemitah  teaching yet.

Comment by Bob Miller on October 13, 2014 at 7:08pm

Anyone who includes the USA as a significant part of Biblical prophecy proves their lack of understanding about the scriptures although I have not read any of Cahn’s ideas.

What most people miss is the fact that prophesy is ALL about Israel.  There are other ‘players’ in the script, but to place the USA as a factor in the events of the Lord’s coming is nigh unto ignorance.  A lot of American Christians have an exaggerated unscriptural view of America’s place in the whole scheme of things.  Proves that there is an abundance of bad and false teaching going on out here!  Again, the main reason there are so many off the wall ideas is that there is a high degree of poor scholarship exercised in the study of Biblical prophecy.  Proves the fact that too many people develop their theology before studying the scriptures instead of letting the scriptures dictate the narrative.
