The book of Enoch or “1 Enoch” is comprised of five sections. I believe the whole book, all five sections, is divinely inspired Scripture. These are my primary reasons:

The first section is quoted by Yahudah (aka Jude). (Compare Jude 14-15 with 1Enoch 1:9 and notice Jude referred to this passage as an inspired prophecy)

In the second section there are at least 30 references to Yahushua, including many references to Him as the "Son of Man" (a term He uses for Himself well over 30 times in Mathew through John, and used by Steven in the book of Acts), the "Righteous one" (a term used for the Messiah in Acts 7:52 and 22:14), the "Chosen One" (a term used for the Messiah in Isa 42:10 and Luke 23:35), and twice as the "Anointed One" (a term that, when transliterated from the Hebrew, is ‘haMashiach’ or ‘the Messiah’). This section also makes mention of the New Covenant (1Eno 60:6), the seven Sprits of YHWH given to Yahushua (1Eno 49:3, 51:3, & 67:10) (also mentioned in Isa 11:2, Rev 1:5, 3:1, 4:5 & 5:6), the Word of Yahushua's mouth slaying the sinners (1Eno 62:2) (also mentioned in Rev 19:15), the new heavens and new earth (1Eno 44:4-5) (also mentioned in Isa 65:17 & Rev 21:1-22:15 (particularly 1Eno 44:5c with Rev 22:15)), the angels of YHWH's wrath (1Eno 53:3, 62:11, & 63:1; compare with Rev 15:7), eternal light (1Eno 58:5-6; compare with Isa 60:19 and Rev 22:5), judgment day being prepared for those who don't keep Torah (1Eno 60:6; compare with Jer 24:5-6 & Eze 39:21/Mik 5:15), the first resurrection of the dead (62:15; compare with Rev 20:4-5)and the second resurrection of the dead(1Eno 51:1; compare with Dan 12:2,& Rev 20:13), us being given new garments (1Eno 62:15-16; compare with Mat 22:11 & Rev 3:5), and all sinners falling on their knees and confessing their sins before YHWH and Yahushua (1Eno 62:9 & 63:1; compare with Isa 45:23-24 & Phil 2:10-11).

The third section agrees with the book of Revelation in stating that there are 360 days in a year (1Eno 74:14/11 & 75:1 and Rev 11:2-3/12:6/13:5). Also, it is correct in saying that in latter times the perfect calendar Enoch was shown would be "altered" and the order of the sun will be changed (i.e. 364 days long to becoming 365.242199 days long) because of sin (1Eno 80:4-7), but also states that we should none-the-less continue to use this 364 day calendar (1Eno 82:3-7).

In the fourth section of the book of 1Enoch we are given an amazing parable that covers the time span from Noah all the way to the end of the world and life in the new heaven and new earth. It prophecies that their would be a remnant of faithful Israelites at the time of the Messiah’s coming (1Eno 90:6), it prophecies of the beheading of John the Baptist (1Eno 90:8), it prophecies of the first coming of Yahushua at that time (1Eno 90:9), it prophecies of Yahushua being a light to the lost sheep of the house of Israel (1Eno 90:9-10), it prophecies of the death of Yahushua (1Eno 90:16), it prophecies of the end time judgment (1Eno 90:24-27), it prophecies of destruction of Jerusalem and the 3rd Temple (1Eno 90:28), it prophecies of the millennial reign (1Eno 90:29-30), it prophecies of the end time wedding feast (1Eno 90:32-34), it prophecies of the fulfillment of Jer 31:34/Rev 21:3-4 (1Eno 90:35).

The final section of the book warns us who are living in the last days (1Eno 91:7/108:1) to stay away from the ways of sinners because YHWH will execute judgment on the sinners (1Eno 91:6-9, 92:5, 94:1, 95:5-7, 96:8, 97:3, 98:3, 99:1-16, 102:3, 103:8, 104:5, &108:3). It also speaks of the resurrection of Yahushua (1Eno 93:8), and the dispersion of His original followers (1Eno 93:8) and the corrupt Church that arose shortly after (1Eno 93:9). It also speaks of the first resurrection of the dead (1Eno 91:10 & 92:3; compare with Rev 20:4-5). It also speaks of the creation of the new heaven and new earth (1Eno 91:16). It also speaks of the eternal light we will be walking in (1Eno 92:3; compare with Rev 22:5). It also calls the Messiah YHWH's Son (1Eno 105:2; compare with 2Sam 7:14/2Chr 17:13 & Psa 2:7/12). Some other interesting parallels include: 1Eno 94:8 and Mat 6:19-24/19:23, 1Eno 94:11 and Mat 24:9/Jn 17:14, 1Eno 97:7 and Rev 10:1-5, 1Eno 108:3 and Rev 20:15, and 1Eno 108:9 and Jn 12:25. It is a wonderful book of prophecies to read over and over again!

With so many allusions to canonical Scripture, Enoch has been quite accurately called "the book behind the Bible". And yes I agree it is Scripture as well.

I believe it is Scripture too.
