Folks there are some things I need to talk to you all about.
I want to start by saying that the modern restoration of the ancient sect of the Nazarenes has been very successful. Since we founded the Society for the Advancement of Nazarene Judaism (which has since evolved into the Worldwide Nazarene Assembly of Elohim) back in 1996, Nazarene Judaism has been restored to the earth as an organized movement for the first time in centuries. Nazarene Judaism has gone from a forgotten Jewish sect buried in a few references by the so-called “Church Fathers” to a living, growing, organized movement. For the first time in hundreds of years there are Nazarene Synagogues meeting in various parts of the world. Yeshua sent his talmidim into all the world, and we today are bringing Nazarene Judaism to a worldwide audience. More and more people have embraced the simple truth that Yeshua (“Jesus”) did not come to create a new religion, but that he came to be Messiah of the old one. It may seem like an amazingly simple idea, but without the light of the Ruach HaKodesh even this simple truth was hidden in darkness. (Just as tic-tac-toe might seem like an easy game, but in complete darkness it becomes incomprehensible.) Turning that light on has changed the way that thousands of people see, we have been blessed by having been given the opportunity on so many occasions to flick that switch on for so many people, not just in the USA both throughout the world in many languages! I am in awe when I see how much has changed since we started in 1996. And I do not want you to get this wrong, I am no more responsible for this change than a day laborer is responsible for the architecture of the house he is building. I am simply honored to have been YHWH’s day laborer, he alone has been the architect. I just count myself fortunate to have been in the right place, at the right time, when YHWH needed a day laborer, and as such I have put all of my heart and soul into this work.
Now I want to address the community about an important and profound subject, the funding of this restoration work. I believe there are many of you who love this work just as much as I do, and I am counting on you as partners in this work. This work is seriously under-funded, in fact tithes and offerings are down 33% over the last two months. Is it me? Have I been a workman unworthy of his hire? Is it that Nazarene Judaism as a movement is unworthy of your support?
In Rabbinic Judaism a minion must be present in order for the Torah service to be performed. A minion is a minimum number present in order to constitute an “assembly” and is defined in Rabbinic Judaism as ten men (see m.San. 1:6). Many Orthodox Synagogues have a core group of ten men who are committed to be there for services, so that there will always be a minion there every week, and services can always take place. These ten men are committed to making the Torah service happen every week.
Folks, what we need in Nazarene Judaism is a minion of tithers committed to making the work of the Worldwide Nazarene Assembly of Elohim possible each month. Why a minimum of ten? Because the tithe is 10%, therefore if ten men of average income are full tithers, the total tithe would be an average income for one full time “laborer in the word”. A minion of ten is the minimum needed for a ministry with just one full time laborer in the word to receive a fulltime average wage. We need a minion, we need ten persons who are willing to commit to being a sponsoring minion for this last days restoration of the ancient Sect of Nazarene Judaism. Can you be part of such a sponsoring minion that is committed to making this work possible every month? If you can make that commitment, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the Subject Title Sponsoring Minion. If you do not feel that you can commit to being a full tither, but you can make regular offerings, we would also like to hear from you as well. Let us know what you can commit to, just email us with the Subject “Offering Commitment”.
Now is the time to step up to the plate.
I often ask the question, is this work worthy of your support? Ask yourself, have you learned anything from this ministry? If so then chip in and do your part to help spread this truth.
