No matter how young or old I get I see the same mistakes time after time. Especially when it comes to the community of believers. Whether it be in a church or synagogues or other places of worship it happens over and over again. And of course we blame the person who sinned who fell. However, where we might have not committed that particular sin we are just as guilty of sin ourselves.
We all love to hear and see good teachers of the WORD and say we try to strive to understand it to become more like HIM in perfection. Where we all fail is that we must always remember we are ALL sinners. We will NOT get there until the day HE returns and abolish this earth and make a new one. This does not however, give us the excuse to sin and give up. HE only knows our heart but is it through our desire to be perfect like HIM is what makes us worthy in HIS sight.
What I see time after time is how those teachers, those leaders sin and fall. All of a sudden we are questioning everything we have heard, or been taught by this person because of a sin (usually a big sin in our eyes) and lose faith or exam our own. Why? Why does it take someone in leadership or knowledge to do something horrible to exam what we have been taught? HE warns of this. Here is one such example:
1 My brothers, if a man from you, should be overtaken by a fault, those of you that are in the Spirit, should correct him in a meek spirit: and be watchful, lest also you be tempted.
2 And bear one another's burdens, that therefore you fulfill the Torah of Messiah.
3 For if a man thinks he is something, when he is not, he deceives his nefesh.
4 But let a man examine his work, and then his boasting will be in his nefesh, and not in others,
5 For every man shall carry the load of his nefesh.
(Galatians 6:1-5 HRV)
5 Thus says YHWH: Cursed is the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from YHWH.
6 For he shall be like a tamarisk in the desert, and shall not see when good comes: but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land, and not inhabited.
7 Blessed is the man that trusts in YHWH, and whose trust YHWH is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not see when heat comes, but its foliage shall be luxuriant. And shall not be anxious in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
(Jeremiah 17:5-8 HRV)
I am saying you should have questioned, challenged those leaders/teachers from the beginning. You shouldn't have brought into what they were selling. Would you buy something you have no knowledge of or education about? You would do your homework. So if you can do it for materialistic things why can't you do that for your soul? Is that not worth more? I say that you have also committed a sin. You put your faith in a man, a teacher, a leader. We are warned not to do so but because it sounds so good or their so charismatic or we fear what they say we just believe what they teach?
Recently I saw this people getting disappointed over someone who they felt had sin and broke trust. I was saddened but not surprised. I was not broken nor was my faith. I question everything I hear even from my own husband and mother who have taught me a lot but as much as I love them I check it out myself. I investigate myself. This we are told to do. It is not THEIR ministry, synagogue or church. It belongs to HIM and in HIM only will we find the truth.
1 But this know: that in the last days, difficult times will come.
2 And sons of men will be lovers of their nefeshot, and lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, those who are not obedient to their parents, ungrateful, wicked,
3 Slanderers, slaves to lust, cruel, haters of good,
4 Betrayers, unrestrained, proud, lovers of lusts more than the love of Eloah;
5 Those who have the form of the awe of Eloah, but are far removed from His power.
Those who are thus, thrust them out from you.
6 For from them, are those who creep from house to house, and captivate women who are loaded down with sins, and are led away by various lusts:
7 Who always are learning, and are not ever able to come to the knowledge of the Truth.
8 But as Yannes and Yambres stood against Moshe, so also they are standing against the Truth: men whose minds are corrupt, and reject the Trust.
9 But they will not progress: for their folly is made known to every man, as also theirs was made known.
10 But you have followed after my teaching, and after my ways, and after my will, and after my trust, and after my long-suffering, and after my love, and after my patience,
11 And after my persecution, and after my sufferings. And you know those [things] I endured in Antioch, and in Iconium, and in Lystra; what persecution I endured. And from all of these, my Adon delivered me.
12 But all those who desire to live in the fear of Eloah, in Yeshua the Messiah, will be persecuted.
13 Now evil, and deceiving, sons of men will add to their wickedness, while deceiving and being deceived.
14 But remain in those [things] which you learned and were assured of, for you know from whom you learned [them]:
15 And that from your youth, you were taught the Set-Apart Writings, which are able to make you wise to Life, by the Trust of Yeshua the Messiah.
16 Every writing which was written by the Spirit, is profitable for teaching, and for reproof, and for correction, and for instruction which is in righteousness:
17 That the son of man of Eloah, may be complete and whole, for every good work.
