What is an Overseer? The Hebrew term is Mevakar. An Overseer shepherds and oversees a local community. Part of his job is teaching and outreach. Initially it is also his job to train up between three and twenty two other men to become Elders for a local beit-din of twenty-three seats over which he will preside. Essentially a Mevakar (Overseer) is a local congregational leader.
A major key to growing the Nazarene Community is the establishing of local communities. We at WNAE can and will provide guidance and logistical support in congregation planting and growth.
If you would like to help establish a Nazarene community in your local area, or if you are already leading a community and would like to work with us, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with an email titled “Overseer”.
