We search for truth. But there may be limits to how much truth we can stand.

Upon first learning how much paganism had infiltrated and saturated the church, my wife said it totally rocked her world. All her supports, her trusted foundations began to crumble. This same experience happens to many who come to see Torah as valid for today.

Yet at the same time the first reaction is to grab hold of anything Jewish or to embrace Judaism as though in them lies the answers we need. Indeed the pendulum swings from one extreme to the other. Sadly we soon discover that Judaism is mired in the same pagan muck and confusion as is Christianity.

Somewhere in the middle - stripped of all pagan traditions from both sides - lies the ground we should tread.

But it's not so easy to find. We can read the Torah for ourselves now and rejoice in the new meanings we find in Scriptures we've read a hundred times. Yet, when we need help to interpret a passage, we discover the pathway strewn again with the tangles of tradition.

As in Fiddler on the Roof we find our lives governed by man-made traditions without even knowing it. Neither teachers nor laymen are exempt from its influence.

While I can read the True words of Torah, am I able to understand their true meaning without the prejudice of my sin and self-serving interests interfering?

Christianity claims to have all Truth while they interpret Hebrew Scriptures with a 21st century gentile mindset packed with pagan practices.

Some Messianic Groups claim to have all Truth while they interpret the same Scriptures also with a 21st century Greek mindset, but packed with Jewish flavored man-made practices.

Scripture says in Revelation 12:9 that hasatan has deceived the whole world. The verse doesn't apply to just the lost. If we are to be honest we have to ask ourselves if it applies to us as well. Are our determined debates over the practices of the faith really about defending the Faith, or defending the Tradition?

My picture is meant to symbolize Ruth. She was a gentile. Yet, she said to Naomi, "You G-d is my G-d. Your people are my people."

I think this is the perfect representation of what the attitude and actions should be of gentile believers. We leave the gentile world behind if we want to be part of Israel.

George, I was not trying to sell you a doctrine. It is a standard Jewish prayer, & many of us here study Hebrew, & study Jewish prayers. I did not write the prayer, & those are not my words. The only comment on your page was the one I sent to you. I came in friendship to offer you a pretty, soothing looking picture with Hebrew words on it, like the one I had already sent. It is not an edict from God, it's just a nice gesture
to make you feel welcome here. If you do not like it, there is a little X in the top right hand corner that makes it go away.

Thanks, George, those were nice things for you to say. Believe me, I am not deceived. I know how paganism has been rampant in the churches since it's inception. I received my first Bible at 16 & was already shaking the world of priests with the Word of Truth from that point. In this case, the Hebrews knew about the laws of sanitation even long before doctors were cutting people open with dirty, rusty knives, & they could not have received knowledge of this concept other than by the Spirit of God, because there were not microscopes to see the microbes teaming on dirty things. I am pretty sure it is safe to wash our hands even today, without fear of breaking God's Laws, because these are still laws of sanitation, which had to come from God's Spirit when the rest of the world was running around in compete ignorance that there was any such thing. If it were something like making our children walk through fire to sanitize them, that would be a whole different story & a grievous error besides. But if you examine this one closely, this kind of knowledge could not have come from any other source, & it was & still is a blessing to the Chosen People of God, which here, they are blessing God for in their way of thanksgiving to Him. I do not believe that the Levitical Priests were capable of getting this kind of knowledge on their own in order to make it a tradition. This goes back even before science had discovered microbes. This is even a miraculous gift, a true blessing.
