Profile Information

Do you consider yourself a:
Hebrew Christian
Books I consider Canonical:
Tanak (Old Testament), Ketuvim Netzarim (New Testament)
Favorite version of Scriptures:
About me:
I am a Sabbath keeping, kosher lacto-ovo vegetarian. My dietary concerns are mostly about kosher additives and processes. I do follow more orthodox certifications in my purchasing preferences (U, CRC, Two Tablets K, etc. yes; but K or circle K etc. do not cut it for me). I am a son of Abraham through Jesus; a gentile by birth, but circumcised on the 8th day in a proper bris (or so I am told – with some evidence to that effect). I'm an ordained Christian minister / Rabbi with an MDiv and most of a DMin degree. But most importantly, I am a loving Christian though still a sinner in need of the covering atoning blood of Jesus, which I accept as the full and perfect sacrifice for my sins. I recognize the atoning work of Jesus as my High Priest in this new Christian era which through the work of His Holy Spirit I am not only forgiven and justified, but also am being and will be sanctified. Now I am hidden in Christ and accepted of my Heavenly Father in and through Him by grace through faith, given in abundant measure.
Marital Status
Instrumentals are my favorite type of music: Classical, Baroque, some pop, movie overtures, some musicals, folk tunes of Israel, Scotland, Ireland. I love strings, especially the violin. Pipes are my second favorites including panpipes, Irish flute pipe, well played bagpipes if not overdone, oboe, clarinet. Modern composers I like are Williams, Lennon, McCartney, Gershwin, Debussy, Copeland, and others; older artists: Vivaldi, Franck, Mozart, Puccini, Smetana, Brahms, and many others. Some vocals I do like are the Beatles, Susan Boyle, the Gospel group Kindle, and a few others including Church Hymnology. Although these are my usually preferred music stiles, composers, and artists, there are times I can be quite eclectic. I find myself enjoying a much wider range of music extending from hard rock to Jazz, big bands, techno, Country, Rapp, Acapella groups . . . in short, almost every genera has some composers, writers, and artists worth listening to with equal enjoyment. All also have “bad eggs” too. My least favorite? Most, but not all operas. Favorite opera, Carmen.
Illustrated public speaking and preaching, photography, computers, writing, reading, puppetry, vent, balloon sculpture, illusions, chalk art, watercolor, woodworking, wood carving, metalwork, gardening, family time and healthy delicious cooking.
Favorite Television Shows and Movies:
I admit I am a Treker/Trekie since day one of the original series. I do not like some of the turns the franchise has taken or all of the statement directions the social issues treatments (an earmark of most Star Trek and spin-off episodes). I do not yet like the new temporal timeline established in the latest franchise offerings. Next favorite are old Westerns. I am also a Dr. Who fan. And I will watch many things with a positive spiritual theme, but never spiritistic, monster, demonic, or dark fairytale themed shows. A good mystery or crime solving show is something that I often enjoy. Some action adventure movies are good too; as are clean comedies. History based TV and movies are possibilities. Contests and game shows that are not vindictive or cut-throat are good; like Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, Family Feud, The Price is Right, but not any in which temporary alliances or dirty tricks are allowed and encouraged.
What is your favorite Book of the Scriptures?
Daniel, Matthew, Genesis, Isaiah, Acts, Exodus, John, Hebrews, Psalms, & Proverbs in that order; but I do like them all.
What is your favorite verse?
Isaiah 26:3
What is your favorite quote? (From Scripture or elsewhere)
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3 KJV) AND If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 NKJV)
How did you hear of NazareneSpace?
This was about the 5th or 6th site I searched on what others thought about mushrooms being acceptable as foods for those following kosher laws. I found the discussion interesting and wanted to contribute my findings and understanding of the discussion of the subject.
