Restoring our nation need not have anything to do with politics. I am talking about restoring the values of "prudence, righteousness, courage and temperance" which are the "forms of Wisdom" of "the discipline of the Torah" (4Macc. 1:17-18). These values are the Judao-Christian values ... we as a nation have drifted away from those values that can restore the nation to honor.

"Many of us have gotten used to the help of Christians and the churches, we have operated under their blessing, we have met in their buildings and have drawn many visitors and even some adherents from their ranks. The label of ‘Messianic Jewish’ many of us have accepted either actively or passively has allowed this free flow of people and assistance between us and the church. This will eventually come to a stop; it must if we desire to place both feet in the camp of Israel. The Jewish community is not going to believe anything we say about ourselves when we meet in a church building and belt out ‘Amazing Grace’ during worship. As we consistently declare we are not Christians, that we do not accept their theology and interpretation of the Scriptures, that we are not their intimate brothers and ‘co-heirs’ with their messiah, they will reject us and look at us with suspicion. This is not to say that we will cease to cooperate with Christians in encouraging righteousness among all peoples and working towards common goals, just as the Jewish and Christian communities do today. But cooperation in ‘evangelism’ or other such things will no longer be possible. We are not preaching the same messiah and our idea of discipleship will be completely different."

As for Romans 14 it is only telling us to submit to YHWH's government (the Beit Din). In fact the "rebellion" against the king of England came partly as a result of the "black robe brigade" of American preachers proclaiming "no king but Jesus".

Which bible was the most popular at the time and what led up to the Revolutionary War? I was under the impression that it was not the KJV, but I could be mistaken.

Yep the KJV was the Bible of the time.

>We only submit to leaders in as much as they follow Torah.

Hmm... does this make you their judge? Clearly non are "without sin" besides Messiah. Yet there is no doubt that the Torah lays out a system of human hierarchy. David was still king, despite his adultery and murder (of course he repented of both as soon as they were brought to him by Nathan).

When did the Geneva Bible stop being circulated?
Without Torah, there is no lamp unto thy feet.

Shalom,
The Bible the Puritans brought with them was the Geneva Bible, not the government bible (the KJV). However, the Geneva Bible went out of print before 1650. The translations are quite similiar, but the KJV doesn't have the text notes and commentary that enraged the monarchy.

I think you're right, but there's a point where the sin is egregious enough that we have to rebel against the authorities, e.g. the 3 friends of Daniel, Peter and John preaching the Gospel anyway. You know that already.

Our God YHWH was not in favor of Kings or any governing body between him and his people. In the Tanakh(Old Test.) He had a system of "Judges". He relented and allowed a King because the people "insisted". Did they learn anything from this? Obviously not.
